Weirdness this way comes! The new album, Graveward, by Japanese weirdmongers Sigh has to be one of the most eclectic and genuinely fun albums I have heard in a while, so click on through and see what Isle of Strange has let rise from the ocean!

Death Metal has a long and storied past, with some of the most iconic bands of metal belonging to this old school, brutal genre: Cannibal Corpse, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Mortician, Autopsy, Obituary, Entombed… and the almighty father, DEATH. From the ashes of Chuck Schuldiner’s genre forming playing and vision comes today’s review: Savage Land by Gruesome.  

Once again the Metal Gods have smiled upon this woeful world, and dropped another monolithic slab of raucous heavy blues! The newest addition to the Acid King Pantheon, Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere,is here, and demands ears to listen to it’s outpourings!  

After all the hubbub of a long day, I love to throw on instrumental albums. No one is going to ask me how the hell I can listen to that noise, or how I can understand that guy yelling at me, or why is he saying FUCK so much?! Instrumental albums and bands allow for an open conversation about metal, and can really help people understand it’s all about a lot more than just defenestrating people or Satan being awesome. Today’s selection is the new S/T album from NY in 64 (or NY64, if you see that), so read further if you’re interested.  

Like Death Metal? Like Death Metal you can understand, but still be brutal AF? Look no further than th enew album from Psychomancer, Inject the Worms! This slab of throwback death metal makes the blood-caked hairs on my arms shiver, so check the review after the break!  

And we are back with another new album coming down the pike, this time a phenomenal heavy rock/metal album from a relatively unknown (to me, at least) band, Entropy O.A.C., with their newest offering, Dark Clouds and Clarity.  

Finally! After waiting what felt like centuries, Dead Earth Politics, from my own backyard, Austin, Texas (ATX for the cool kids), rockers to the rolling hills paradise and usurpers to the metal throne, have allowed me to review their new masterpiece! Noise/Post Rock is by far a terrible genre, I don’t care if its your favorite, Jerry. It sucks, and you suck by association! However, a new batch of these records have been poppign up that are actual good! One such example is the new Fossils album, The Meatening. And yes, there is a bacon track. Its an album of prime cuts and tasty gristle!  

Hey… psssst… Hey you! Ya, you reading! Like gory images, fast riffs, and… old school death metal?! Well, have I got a record for you! The new album from Anal Vomit, Peste Negra, Muerte Negra, out on May 5th, and its nasty. How nasty? Well, you got to read to find out…

Doom bands seem to be having a boon year, and we have been inundated with several of them as of late. Today’s example, As Heavens Turn To Ash, comes to us from a stalwart of the genre, Warhorse!
