I recall the internet exploding in 2014 as Edgar Wright announced his departure from Ant-Man. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End all stand as some of my favorite movies, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is no doubt included in there, too. So when the acclaimed director left the new Marvel property I had wanted so badly, I was stunned. I wasn’t alone, as Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne) even has gone on record stating that she nearly walked out of the film with the announcement. If you haven’t seen Episode VII yet, what are you doing with your life? Toho surprised everyone yesterday when they unveiled the first trailer for their new Godzilla film, Godzilla Resurgence. (Shin Gojira in Japan) Not having made a Godzilla film in 12 years and having seen the success of Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla, Toho has made a titanic effort in order to bring their iconic mascot back to the forefront of cinema.
