ThNamorere doesn’t seem to be a chance Marvel is going to be getting the film rights X-Men back any time soon, but they’re still able to take in other, smaller victories.

Previously Marvel was celebrating the deal in which they were able to share Spider-Man with Sony, allowing the fan-favorite character to be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As fans rejoiced worldwide, everyone seemed to forget some of the other characters still out of Marvel’s reach.

The latest character to possibly come home to Marvel is none other than Namor, the MCU’s equivalent to Aquaman for lack of a better explanation. This revelation comes from Joe Quesada, who spoke with Kevin Smith on his Fat Man on Batman podcast. Quesada states, in regarding Namor’s film rights:

“I can’t speak for studios… As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony… Yeah.”

While this is no official press confirmation and Namor has been known to be tied up at Universal, this does bode well for fans of the deep-sea character. Quesada also denies any comments on whether he will appear in Infinity War, but it seems like that the character will appear in the far-off Phase Four of Marvel movies once Infinity War wraps up.

It is safe to assume, however, that once Marvel announces Namor’s film rights reverting to the studio that we will see a Namor series start again. Give it time.
