PRODUCT OF HATE will hit the road again this summer, continuing in support of their Napalm Records debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE. The next round of touring kicks off with a May-June East Coast run supporting Bay area legends, SKINLAB, along with IKILLYA. The action continues as PRODUCT OF HATE and IKILLYA trek on for the 2017 Summer Annihilation Tour, making their way across the U.S. through July. I like the idea of going to shows and seeing a wide variety of bands, particularly in heavy metal. Not every tour needs to be a conglomerate of metalcore or thrash metal on every single run, and seeing different bands on the bill help change things up. So, thus, when it was revealed that Swallow the Sun and Amorphis would be joining an already diverse pairing of Nile and Overkill at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey, it was a complete breath of fresh air.  

Classic death metal newcomers GATECREEPER will begin their 2017 live takeover with a North American run supporting Nails and Relapse labelmates, Toxic Holocaust. Set to commence on March 16th in Orlando, Florida and ravage eighteeen cities through April 1st in Los Angeles, California, the crushing tour package follows GATECREEPER’s punishing performance at Power Of The Riff in Los Angeles this past December.  

Long Beach, California’s RIVAL SONS have been announced as the Sunday Special Guests for this year’s Steelhouse Festival.  

Swedish Hard Rockers HORISONT are thrilled to announce that they will be returning to North America next month as part of their ‘About Time’ world tour. The upcoming dates come in support of the band’s new album, About Time, which was released on February 3rd  

Influential hardcore band, Terror, has announced plans to release a new EP titled, The Walls Will Fall, via Pure Noise Records on April 28th. In support of the new record, the band has announced they’ll be hitting the road this spring for a U.S. headline tour with God’s Hate and Abuse of Power.  

Richmond, VA doomsters WINDHAND have announced a new run of headlining European tour dates this coming fall with fellow Virginia based group Satan’s Satyrs. The tour commences September 21st in Copenhagen, DK and runs till October 13th in Bristol, UK. Longstanding holy terror legends INTEGRITY have recently completed recording their highly anticipated 12th studio album entitled Howling, For The Nightmare Shall Consume.  

Japanese heavy metal/teen-pop phenom, BABYMETAL has announced that they will be supporting KORN on their US Tour, kicking off in June. BABYMETAL will join the tour with Stone Sour, the band lead by Slipknot’s vocalist Corey Taylor, Skillet, Yelawolf, and Ded Islander. The tour kicks off on June 18th in Albuquerque, NM, and wraps up on June 25th in Nampa, ID. Full tour dates listed below.   

Maryland doom legends THE OBSESSED have announced a full US tour in support of the forthcoming album Sacred. The tour commences on April 12th in Pittsburgh, PA and runs through May 20th in Baltimore, MD. Karma To Burn will provide direct support on all dates while Fatso Jetson (April 17 – May 1) and Lo-Pan (May 3 – May 20) will provide additional support on select dates. THE OBSESSED will also join Weedeater and label-mates Primitive Man on five West Coast shows during the run (April 27 – May 1). All confirmed tour dates below.  

Finnish Doom Metal outfit SWALLOW THE SUN have returned to North America as they continue to tour on the strength of their latest release, Songs From The North (2015). The band begins a six week trek in the US and Canada supporting Amorphis tonight in Charlotte, NC. Speaking about their return to North America, the members of Swallow The Sun comment,  

Avatar of Sweden have released a statement on the recent discovery of TRAPPIST-1, also designated as 2MASS J23062928-0502285. The band plans to visit the newly named solar system immediately. “The ‘new land’ mission will focus primarily on finding life and sustainable living conditions,” says His Royal Majesty King Kungen. “Secondly we will look for harvestable resources such as various types of metal, lead, copper, zinc, thrash, death… that sort of thing. How do I turn this off? I’m thirsty! Where is my mead? And where are your pants? Wait, is this thing still recording?!”
