Evan Conway Hard Music, News, Tours Comments Off on Wovenwar Impress On The Fury Tour

Sometimes we need to admit to having our opinions change. I see no shame in it, but it happens not too often that a band I once shrugged off comes around and changes my opinion. Such was the case of Wovenwar: I was a fan of As I Lay Dying, and as that whole fiasco went down with the band, Wovenwar just didn’t seem like it was directed at me and the way my musical taste was going at the time. Things can always change, obviously, and there definitely is a thing called a “second chance” in this world, so it suffices to say that Wovenwar has come around and changed my view of them while on the Fury Tour.

Evan Conway Band Interviews, Hard Music, Music Video, News, Streaming, Tours Comments Off on Conversing with Omnium Gatherum’s Jukka Pelkonen

I wrote in my Ophidian Spell review that I love watching a band rise from humble beginnings. To restate what I’ve said, I’ve been lucky to watch Nails, Ghost, and a few others start from a single Facebook page and demo early demos to the juggernauts they are in the wider spectrum of heavy music. Omnium Gatherum, one of Finland’s quintessential melo death bands, are no newcomers to the genre, but with the release of Grey Heavens, it seems they’re finally getting an ever-increasing amount of attention.
