Hard-hitting Electronic Rock outfit 9ELECTRIC have announced that they will be returning to the road with Drowning Pool as part of the band’s “Not So Silent Night” tour in the US. Also joining them will be fellow Century Media labelmates Gemini Syndrome. 9Electric continue to tour on the strength of their debut album, The Damaged Ones, which came out in July of this year.  

Late last year, BLACK SABBATH–Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler–announced their farewell world tour, “The End.” And now almost a year later, the band will perform the final U.S. shows in their historic five decade long career

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will kick off their US co-headlining trek with grind icons Napalm Death tonight in Farmington, New Mexico. Set to run through November 21st, the Abysmal Predator tour features Metal Blade labelmates ABNORMALITY as well as Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, and Power Trip as support on select dates.  

NEW YEARS DAY are about to embark on the “Retrograde” tour with Crown The Empire and Blessthefall, which kicks off tomorrow (11/1) in Phoenix, AZ at the Nile Theater. The month long North American trek will see the band supporting their latest release, Malevolence and will be their first tour in the US since May of this year. Highly complex progressive sci-fi themed metallers VEKTOR are due to kick off a headlining US tour tonight in Cleveland, Ohio, with support from technical thrashers BLACK FAST.  

DIAMOND HEAD will  begin their longest North American tour in their 40-year career tomorrow! Expected to include songs that span their extensive recording catalog, the band’s set will feature selections from their popular, self-titled new album.  

Is it just me, or is death metal just stupidly great this year? The underground scene for death metal seems to be in full effect this year, and with it bands are bringing this extra degree of darkness to the mix, creating something really awesome atmospheres, pummeling riffs, and quality albums from start to finish. With plenty of music in the genre being released this year, let’s take note of some of the best the genre has offered in the past ten months.  

Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD are staying busy in support of their current Mini-CD entitled Post Society – EP. Today marks the beginning of a comprehensive European tour together with Century Media label mates Entombed A.D. as well as Lord Dying and freshly announced supporting acts (See lower for details!).  

2016 doesn’t know when to stop when it comes to great music. Whether it be Devin Townsend and Between the Buried and Me or Fear Factory and Soilwork, the amount of shows to correlate with the great albums coming out are nothing to scoff at. So is anyone actually surprised to know that another killer toured happened and if you missed it you were actually missing out on something? It’s the truth.
