San Diego’s PIERCE THE VEIL will release their sophomore album, SELFISH MACHINES, via Equal Vision Records on June 22, shortly before kicking off Warped Tour on June 25. Recorded with producer Mike Green (Paramore, Set Your Goals) at his studio in Los Angeles, the 12-track set features catchy pop hooks paired with metal tinged guitars and aggressive vocals. It’s the follow up to 2007’s critically acclaimed A FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATIC, which was recorded with Casey Bates (Chiodos, Portugal. The Man).

Vincent Crowley, frontman for Ibex Moon Record’s ACHERON, has issued the following statement regarding the band’s future: “After 22 years of existence, Black/..Death/Thrash Metal band ACHERON are calling it quits! The band has released 5 original full length cds, 3 mini-cds, 1 cover-tribute cd and a number of other underground releases. ACHERON will end on a familiar note by doing one last run of “RITES OF THE BLACK MASS” shows until January 1st, 2011.
Megadeth and Slayer, who last toured the U.S. together 19 years ago on the “Clash of the Titans” extravaganza, have confirmed that they will each perform, start to finish, their 1990 releases – Slayer’s world-wide, million-selling Seasons In The Abyss and Megadeth’s Platinum Rust In Peace – on the upcoming Canadian and American Carnage Tours. The six-date Canadian Carnage kicks off July 23 in Quebec City, while the 19-city American Carnage dates begin August 11 in Glens Falls, NY (complete itinerary is below). With Slayer and Megadeth co-headlining, Testament will be Special Guest on all dates.

Forget about trying to reach the members of fast-rising metallists 2Cents at their homes, as it appears as though the group is constantly on the road. Comprised of the brother tandem Adam (lead vocals, drums) and Dave O’Rourke (guitar, vocals), and Adair Cobley (guitar) and Jason Wendell (bass), 2Cents has completed two legs of touring with Five Finger Death Punch and Shadows Fall, and during May and June, will be hitting the road with Korn as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour.
