Katatonia, Sweden’s master of dark rock, will kick off its North American tour with Opeth, “North American Heritage Tour,” tonight in Buffalo, N.Y. The extensive run will conquer over 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada this spring, including two special stops, the first in Worcester, Mass. on April 20 where the band returns to play the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, then in Clifton Park, N.Y. on April 28 where acclaimed Porcupine Tree front-man Steven Wilson will join for the night.

Industrial band GNAW have joined Seventh Rule Recordings. GNAW is the brainchild of Alan Dubin (Khanate, Old, O.L.D.), Carter Thornton (Enos Slaughter), Jun Mizumachi (Ike Yard), Brian Beatrice and Eric Neuser. Their 2009 Conspiracy Records debut, This Face, described as a “genre destroying journey,” incorporated pounding percussion, factory noise, chordal slabs of guitar and bass, homemade electro-acoustic instruments and Dubin’s legendarily scathing vocal craftings. The band will release their second album, Horrible Chamber, later this year.  

FEAR FACTORY will embark on their first full headlining tour in support of their album The Industrialist. The tour set to visit 38 cities throughout the US and Canada. The World Industrialist tour will feature Hate Eternal and Kobra and The Lotus.  

Neurot Recording signed and is debuting Arkansas southern rock collective Iron Tongue. This band is fronted by Chris “CT” Terry, the founding singer of Rwake. Iron Tongue assembled when a group of veteran players with diverse musical backgrounds decided to combine to create something new and dirty.  

Andrew W.K. has announced plans to embark on his first-ever American solo tour, The Human Party Machine. During this spring/summer jaunt, W.K. will be armed with only a microphone, a keyboard, and the will to survive as he brings his party to intimate club and bar settings across the country.
