Swedish thrash-melo-death veterans The Haunted have been hard at work on their follow up to their 2014 album Exit Wounds. Today, the band decided to lift the curtain a bit on what they’ve been carving in the studio.  

It’s hard to believe, but it has already been four years since Alice in Chains released their last album. The band seems aware of this, too, as guitarist Jerry Cantrell revealed the band is entering the studio next month to record a follow-up.  

Critically acclaimed progressive rock mastermind Steven Wilson has been hard at work on his next studio album, and after months off from touring, he’s finally returned with a new song and album.  

Brazilian death metal act Krisiun has been at it for years, but even though metal has been accepted in most countries they’ve played, it seems it’s not socially accepted in many others as well. Reports are saying that the band was arrested at the airport in Bangladesh for nothing more than “blasphemy.”

Grammy® Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Red Hot Chili Peppers have released a new music video for their song “Goodbye Angels”, from the band’s most recent album The Getaway, which was released by Warner Bros. Records on June 17, 2016.  

Rock fans across North America can look forward to Lifehouse & SWITCHFOOT together for the first time on the “Looking for Summer” Tour, delivering 30+ shows to venues across the U.S. and Canada. The tour kicks off July 23 at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO and will run into the fall, culminating at The Masonic in San Francisco on September 10. Up-and-coming songstress Brynn Elliott will open every night of the tour.  

Wisconsin-based punk/metal shredders DEATHWISH – enlisting members of Wartorn, In Defence, False, and more within their ranks – are preparing to embark on their first official tour supporting their second LP, Unleash Hell, which was released in March through Beer City Skateboards And Records.

Blackest Of The Black Destination Festival will be taking over Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA in Orange County this Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 26th and Saturday, May 27th. The brainchild of Glenn Danzig, the event not only serves as a music festival, but as a cultural experience: an escape. The festival will be hosted by Full Metal Jackie and will feature camping, along with a number of sinister attractions, and two music stages curated by Danzig.  

Sikth have been long credited by bands like Periphery and Monuments as being an influnece on their sound. As a whole, the djent scene has gone on to constantly cite the band as an influence, with even Periphery taking them on tour in the US just this past summer. As it stands, the band had broken up for a few years, but has since returned and are now getting ready to release their first full album since 2006.  

“Dangerous” music is essentially non-existent today. The Satanic Panic of the 80’s is gone, the shock of Marilyn Manson’s performances fails to terrify… Music, in particular metal and its extreme subgenres, are existing in their own bubble now, cut off from the mainstream eyes that were so quick to scrutinize with only some breaking mainstream. While this gives the genre an ability to not worry about outside eyes, it ends up keeping bands out of the spotlight. Bands need to truly shock and terrify if they’re going to make any sort of impact today, and it’s not a feat so easily accomplished. That’s where Full of Hell come in.
