Another day, another story about Visa issues and European bands. In the past few years, Visa Issues have become a widespread problem with bands, with the likes of Cradle of Filth and Obscura being victims of this system. Taake are currently in danger of facing the same problem, just as they’re getting set to embark on another US Tour.  

Celtic Frost has been defunct and laid to rest for years, but Tom G. Fischer has been busy with his own personal demons and his new act, Triptykon. While the band is doing well, it seems the legacy left behind with Celtic Frost will always be a thorn in his side.  

After a year of hectic line-up changes and controversy surrounding the business conducted in the band. founding member Chris Letchford has brought back Scale the Summit, and with it new members in the band.  

Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell has passed away suddenly at the age of 52. Soundgarden were currently on tour and were in Detroit when news of Cornell’s passing was announced.  

The band will be touring in support of their last year’s album “Psychopathology”, released on Agonia Records, together with fellow black metallers Cvinger (Slovenia), Infinityum (France) and Aeternum Vale (Ireland). The 9-date routing will go though five countries.  

In a somewhat surprising revelation, returning Morbid Angel frontman Steve Tucker revealed that the band’s setlist on their upcoming tour with Suffocation will feature material only from his era in the band.  

Mongolian folk metal act, relocated to New York Tengger Cavalry never seem to slow down, and with a whole new album on the way, you better believe we’re going to be getting content from the band.  

San Diego’s FOR THE WIN has a new label home of Victory Records. They will release their new album, Heavy Thoughts, this August. Alternative Press described them as “sweat-soaked, pit-ready pop punk and riff-heavy metalcore.”  

Hardcore/metalcore veterans Integrity are still at it and going as strong as ever. Much to the appeasement of everyone, the band announced today that their new album, Howling, For The Nightmare Shall Consume will be releasing this year. Due out on Relapse Records, Howling will be the band’s first studio album since 2013’s Suicide Black Snake.  

Textures, the progressive groove/metalcore acts of the last decade, have announced their break up. Having announced plans initially to record a double album, the second half of 2016’s Phenotype, the second disc known as Genotype has now been shelved.  

Shining is no stranger to controversy, seeing as the band has been thriving off of both good and bad press for their entire career. Front man Niklas Kvarforth has seemingly made it his entire career to be the most controversial figure in the depths of extreme metal, with the band’s first US run being surrounded by controversy because of his actions on stage. Their current US tour is no different.
