Marvel has released a new simplistic movie poster for Captain America: Winter Soldier. The poster wielding Cap’s shield was released on the fourth of July. “Murica. In the next few weeks following San Diego Comic Con, I’m sure that we can expect to hear a lot more about this film and what to expect. For the time being we’ll just sit on our hands and be quiet waiting for word. The movie’s release date is April 4th, 2014.
This article is merely about numbers. I have not seen this film yet, thus have no insight on how it has actually been executed. However, from reading what has been on the up-and-up through out the internet there seems to be a lot of low balling initiated in what the number of box office sales from opening weekend of Pacific Rim will entail. Forbes Magazine is pegging it to be a disaster as where Legendary pictures is sitting with crossed fingers and hoping hearts that it’s a success.
Universal has released the trailer for the continuation of their serial killing doll franchise, Chucky.. The Curse of Chucky is written and directed by creator Don Mancini, the film centers on a “family imperiled by the murderous doll that launched a generation’s nightmares — determined to finish a job that was started long ago.”
So many rumors have been floating around the internet about which characters the announced actors will play in Guardians of the Galaxy. When Benicio Del Toro was signed on for multiple films the the news just fed the fires of speculation. Now that the Guardians has begun filming in the UK it is a little bit harder to conceal identities, even for superheroes.
In the world of Twitter it was asked of Russell Crowe if he would like to reprise his role of Jor-El in the next Man of Steel film. He stated, “A lot of you are asking about a KRYPTON prequel, if that’s something you feel strongly about let @Legendary pictures know your thoughts”. It goes without saying that the Krypton scenes were the best part of the film and I think I’m not the only one who would love to see Jor-El in another Superman flick.
Fans have been waiting for Guillermo Del Toro to announce the coming of the third installment in his Hellboy series. This movie has been in the works for quite awhile and there is a huge fan base following it. This week Del Toro decided that he was going to allude to some new work, even if it doesn’t come in the form of Hellboy 3.
Disney officially now owns the distribution rights of all the Marvel phase one films. This includes Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger. A press release tells us that Paramount, the original distributor of most of Marvel’s films prior to Disney acquiring the studio in 2009, “was paid for the transfer of the distribution rights.” Fantastic, money money money, so what does this mean?
Bale has announced that he will not be playing the masked vigilante that he has made a name for in the Justice League film. He made it blatantly clear to Entertainment Weekly that “[he has] no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it.”
