In the past 5 years, Marvel Entertainment has been on an amazing roller coaster ride in the movie entertainment business. With their debut mega hit Iron Man…and subsequent releases Captain America, Thor and the third largest grossing movie of all time, The Avengers. Marvel has been riding a wave of hits and sequels that have grossed over 5 Billion dollars…that’s right 5 Billion! But there in lies the rub. With each movie release, Marvel seems to be separating itself from the formula that has made its foray into movies, TV and animation highly successful.  

RANMA 1/2, the martial arts action adventure comedy series that influenced generations of fans around the world, is coming soon to North America Blu-ray and DVD! The first of seven seasons of RANMA 1/2 sets debuts on a Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set (available for the first time in HD!) and on Standard Edition DVD Set on March 25th!

So the mystery is over. Paul Rudd has been chosen to play Dr. Hank Pym in Marvel’s up coming Ant-Man movie. Ant-Man is to be directed by Edgar Wright and is slated for a mid 2015 release.  

Warner Bros. has finally released the official trailer to the much anticipated Godzilla movie. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and starring Bryan Cranston and Elisabeth Olsen. Godzilla will be released May 16th 2014  

Metallica today announced that their groundbreaking 3D feature film, Metallica Through The Never, directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal, will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, digitally, and V.O.D. (Video On Demand) on January 28, 2014 through Blackened Recordings. Formats will include a standard 2-disc package on DVD, Blu-ray, or 3D Blu-ray, as well as special expanded versions.

Michael Chiklis has joined forces with IDW Entertainment to develop and produce his comic series Pantheon as a new scripted live-action television series. IDW Entertainment will fund the development of the project and will be co-produced with Circle of Confusion.

Tidepoint Pictures will release Sanguivorous (“Kyuketsu”) on November 19th. It is the first Japanese avant-garde, silent vampire movie ever made. WaterTower Music today announced details of the soundtrack to “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM), the second in a trilogy of films by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. The soundtrack will be released on December 10, 2013, three days before the December 13 release of the film, and will be available both digitally and as a 2 CD set. A Special Edition soundtrack, featuring twelve extended tracks, a bonus track, expanded liner notes and interactive sheet music will also be available.
