Today, IDW Games announced it had signed J.K. Woodward and Dave Dorman to be the art team for their launch title, Kill Shakespeare. Woodward’s work has been a mainstay at IDW since 2005, where he helped relaunch Fallen Angel before moving on to various Star Trek series, including last-year’s best-selling Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who maxi-series. Dave Dorman is an Eisner Award-winning artist known for his extensive work in the fantasy genre, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and much more.
The success story of A VOICE IN THE DARK, a recent debut from Image Comics with writing and art by disabled comic book creator Larime Taylor, continues with an immediate sell-out at the distributor level. Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise, Rachel Rising) likened the story to “Strangers in Paradise meets Dexter.”
Roadrunner Records and Warner Music Latina have announced the eagerly anticipated debut album from Latin metal group, De La Tierra. “DE LA TIERRA” – the explosive self-titled collection from the Latin group consisting of Andreas Kisser, guitarist of Sepultura, Andrés Giménez, former leader of A.N.I.M.A.L., Sr. Flavio, bassist of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and Alex González, drummer of Maná – features the lead single “Maldita Historia” which is available now via the iTunes Store along with an official music video that made its worldwide premiere earlier today on several media outlets across the globe. “DE LA TIERRA” arrives everywhere on January 14th.
Shai Hulud has announced that they will be on tour in early 2014, likely before many New Years Ever hangovers wear off! The band will embark on an extensive tour of the US that begins on January 3rd and doesn’t wrap up until February 23rd. This or the Apocalypse will headline with Sworn In and Shai Hulud providing support and Sirens & Sailors kicking things off each night. 3 Doors Down return to the road on January 10th in Reno, Nevada for “3 Doors Down Acoustic – Songs From The Basement.” Alongside some of their biggest hits the band will reach into their extensive catalog to perform fan favorites rarely heard live. Limited VIP tickets featuring on stage seating will be made available offering the rare chance to “sit in the basement with the band” in this intimate, live setting. Philip Anselmo and his band The Illegals – guitarist Marzi Montazeri (Superjoint Ritual), bassist Steve Taylor (16 Horsepower, Woven Hand), and Jose Manual “Blue” Gonzalez (Warbeast) on drums – will hit the road bright and early in 2014 for Leg Two of its “Technicians of Distortion” tour. The trek kicks off January 10 in Houston, will play intimate rock clubs exclusively, and is in support of Anselmo’s first solo album, the critically-acclaimed Walk Through Exits Only that was released last July, as well as the recently-released, limited-edition two-song Housecore Horror Fest 10-inch vinyl EP that will be available for purchase on all tour dates.
