North Carolina crossover luminaries CORROSION OF CONFORMITY are pleased to announce their addition to this year’s Hopscotch Music Fest. The three-day event is set to take place on September 6 – 8, 2012 on their home turf of Raleigh. The band will play alongside a throng of artists from all genres including Sunn O))), The Roots, Baroness, Yo La Tengo, The Jesus And Mary Chain and many more.
Forbidden Planet (840 Broadway, NYC) will host a release party/artists signing from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Original Rock ‘n’ Roll Comics artists will be in attendance signing old issues of RnR Comics, trade paperbacks, DVDs, etc. Original copies of the actual comics will be randomly given away to attendees. Artists confirmed include Jay Allen Sanford, Spike Steffenhagen, and Robert V. Conte. Also in attendance will be director Ilko Davidov, doing a Q&A session and signing DVDs.

To commemorate their induction this year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, multi-platinum rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a very special digital-only EP, entitled We Salute You, on May 1st via Warner Bros. Records. It features six songs from previous Hall of Fame inductees, all of whom have influenced the band musically: The Ramones, Iggy & The Stooges, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, and Dion and the Belmonts. FEAR FACTORY has released a special trailer that is a visual preview into the story behind their forthcoming new album, The Industrialist. Set for release June 5, The Industrialist is the second album written by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares since reuniting in 2009 after a seven-year split. An audio snippet for the album’s lead single, “Recharger,” is now available at the band’s official YouTube page; the single is available via iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers beginning April 24.
This weekend, The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame had its ceremony to induct the members of this year’s class. Included was rock and roll band Guns N’ Roses. Former lead singer Axl Rose stated that he would not be attending the ceremony and would not be participating in any activities with his former band mates.
Legendary rock band Rush has unveiled details of its highly anticipated, new album, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS.” This is the renowned trio’s first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner records. “CLOCKWORK ANGELS,” the band’s 20th studio album, will be released on June 12th (see attached track listing). Female-fronted extremists WYKKED WYTCH are set to hit the road as part of the Maximum Cavalera 15th Anniversary North American Tour with SOULFLY, INCITE and LODY KONG this week. The tour gets underway on April 13th in Colorado Springs, CO and will keep the band on the road until the final date in Albuquerque, NM on May 11th.
