BUTCHER BABIES have announced that they will be hitting the road with the legendary Megadeth this Fall as part of the band’s Dystopia tour in North America. Also joining them will be Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, and Metal Church. The month long tour starts in Casper, WY on September 20 and concludes on October 16 in Camden, NJ. In addition to the tour, both Butcher Babies and Megadeth will be performing at this year’s “Ozzfest Meets Knotfest” event, which takes place on September 24 & 25 in San Bernardino, CA  

Rock luminaries SIXX:A.M. announce the release of their fifth studio album Vol. 2, Prayers For The Blessed, out November 18 via Eleven Seven Music. The album will be available for pre-order beginning October 14. Written and recorded at the same time as Vol. 1, Prayers For The Damned, released earlier this year, the album acts as a companion piece to the first chapter while simultaneously elevating the band’s sound in every area.  

Katatonia is set to hit the road shortly in support of its tenth studio effort, The Fall of Hearts – a beautiful behemoth of desolate and dark forces, Katatonia’s latest offering was self-produced by its own Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse.  

U.S. Progressive Metal pioneers FATES WARNING have confirmed their first touring run in Europe for their much acclaimed new album “Theories Of Flight”. The tour will be taking place in January/February 2017 and will feature Armored Dawn in the opening slot and one further band to be announced soon.

California heavy metal band HUNTRESS kicks off the fall touring season with a string of headlining dates, a coveted slot on Ozzfest (September 24 in San Bernardino, CA) and as support for Trivium and Sabaton on a U.S. run in September and October.  

In actuality, who’s making worthwhile music seventeen albums into their career? Make that twenty-two if you count the albums with Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend has essentially done it all since fronting Steve Vai’s band back in 1994. With so much musical output, however, any other artist would normally burn themselves out of originality after a while. Regardless of your opinion on Townsend, one can’t lie that nearly every release is its own entity and sounds different than the rest. Transcendence is no exception to that. Kind of.  

I’ve been going to shows for a few years now, and while I have gone to them amidst some controversy among bands (Mayhem Fest 2015 comes to mind) I have never even been met with any kind of complications that unfolded via the internet. It’s a strange time we live in, but this Belphegor show was met with problems that resulted in an attempt to state that the show itself was not happening. Clearly it did, and with most of the room packed, one could say it failed horribly.  

The year 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary New York Hardcore band SICK OF IT ALL. In order to celebrate this special occasion SICK OF IT ALL are releasing “When The Smoke Clears” on November 4th, 2016.
