Rob Zombie is gearing up for the release of his new movie 31, set to be released in select theaters on 9/1. A trailer for the film, which can be seen here, follows the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. The carnies are forced to play 31, a life or death game.
Brooklyn’s musical alchemists Candiria – long-known for fusing metal, hardcore, jazz, and hip-hop in a unique, inimitable blend – will release their new album, While They Were Sleeping, via Metal Blade Records on October 7th. It was recorded at Spaceman Sound in Brooklyn by Tom Tierney and Alex Mead-Fox, and produced by Candiria. It’s the band’s first album since 2009’s Kiss the Lie.

Recorded in eleven different cities during the band’s highly successful 2015 Inked In Blood world tour, the live tracks capture the incredible performances of a band that has stood atop the death metal pantheon for almost 30 years.
After close to ten years as a guitarist in Iced Earth, the time has come for me to step away. Some of you know, but many do not, that I have a child with Autism. In the past I had a great support system that has allowed me to pursue a career in music. That is no longer the case and it has forced me to make a difficult decision. I’ve always believed that family comes first, and now it is time for me to focus on that.
Originality isn’t just rooted in some new sound an artist creates. Oftentimes, the simplest change in instrumentation is enough to make a band with a familiar sound become fresh to the listener of a genre that’s been long played out and often mimicked countless times. Take Beyond Creation, for example: not only is their songwriting tight, but that emphasis on a fretless bass and instrumental sections gave tech death the kick in the teeth it needed.
