Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of genre-bashing Texan trio MAMMOTH GRINDER. Formed in 2006 in Austin, TX, and consisting of members of Power Trip and Iron Reagan, MAMMOTH GRINDER combine primitive, punk-inflected death metal with the most manic elements of hardcore, crust and grindcore. The band has released three full-lengths and numerous splits and EPs since forming over a decade ago. After a brief hiatus in 2014, MAMMOTH GRINDER have returned and entered the studio earlier this week to record their fourth full-length album. Entitled Cosmic Crypt, the new album will consist of 11 tracks recorded to analog / tape at Trax East in South River, NJ.  

Ah, the CARCASS-influenced bands. One can never really tire of them as bands continually innovate the style. The latest in the line are NASTY SURGEONS, carrying with them the dank and grimy Spanish swagger. It’s phenomenal.  

There’s nothing about Tool that isn’t shroud in mystery and secrecy. How many secrets are present on Lateralus? Are they even playing in a real time signature? Is their fifth album even going to come out at all? While the latter may never be answered, one thing that can strike the fans odd is how little they know of their frontman. It’s true, though, that Maynard James Keenan keeps a low profile when it comes to his personal life, and he has gone to great lengths to do so. A man of numerous accomplishments and ventures in his life, it only seems appropriate that a book would chronicle all of it.

International metal superstars DragonForce have revealed details for their forthcoming, new studio album. Reaching Into Infinity will be released in the USA via Metal Blade Records on May 19th.
