The Deftones played a top notch set in an excellent setting on August 5th, 2015 in Wantagh, NY, Jones Beach. Jones Beach concerts are among my favorite venues to see a concert. The shorelines constant breeze is one of the top perks of experiencing a show here. Open air and a waterside view are hard to pass up. On this night, the Deftones played to the sunset ripping away with their intensely dynamic sound. Aside from the bonuses of the venue, it was a pretty standard Deftones show.

Know who was a bad motherfucker? Chuck Schuldiner! And who was Chuck Schuldiner? The founding member, guitarist, and vocalist for the seminal “death” metal band, DEATH, who pioneered the style in the dense, humid Florida metal scene. And since his untimely passing due to cancerous formations, the genre has never been quite the same. UNTIL NOW. With their debut album, Savage Land, released earlier this year, GRUESOME (an amalgamation of Exhumed, Possessed, Malevolent Creation, and Derketa members who plowed a row of devastation on the Death To All tribute tours) picks up this heavy crown and was kind enough to allow Gus Rios (Gruesome drummer, ex Malevolent Creation) to answer some no doubt dumb questions!
Primitive Race, the industrial super group founded by album producer Chris Kniker (Lords of Acid, RevCo) and including players Graham Crabb (Pop Will Eat Itself), Erie Loch (Luxt, Dream In Red), Tommy Victor (Prong, Danzig) and Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Jackalope), share a video for the song “Addict Now” (https://youtu.be/LIcT2ymZtPA).
