The Deftones played a top notch set in an excellent setting on August 5th, 2015 in Wantagh, NY, Jones Beach. Jones Beach concerts are among my favorite venues to see a concert. The shorelines constant breeze is one of the top perks of experiencing a show here. Open air and a waterside view are hard to pass up.  On this night, the Deftones played to the sunset ripping away with their intensely dynamic sound. Aside from the bonuses of the venue, it was a pretty standard Deftones show.

No new songs and no special guest appearances were scheduled for the show, But at this point in time they have become one of the biggest Post-Metal acts and can draw massive crowds where ever they play, and it’s beautiful seeing this happen to this band.

The set list was superb because it explored the vastness that has encompassed the Deftones discography through out the years. They opened with the title track from Diamond Eyes. I was stoked to be in the photo pit for Rocket Skates and Tempest as well. Their set ended with an Adrenaline hit, Engine No. 9. Believe it or not, that album was released 20 years ago…already!

If you haven’t seen these guys in concert yet, that has to be changed. Not many bands can pull off soothing vibes with heavy riffs like the Deftones do it.
