Jeff Plate has joined forces with TSO keyboardist Jane Mangini and some amazing new talent to form his ‘years in the making’ band Alta Reign. Plate and Mangini, along with Tommy Cook (guitars/lead vocals), Collin Holloway (guitars/lead vocals), Kevin McCarthy (bass, vocals) and Zach Hamilton (keyboards, guitars/vocals), will be releasing Alta Reign’s debut album Mother’s Day on January 8, 2021 via Rat Pak Records. The album is the reflection of dedication as the initial idea spawned 30 years ago and ended in 2020 before locking in the 2021 release date. Danny Wimmer Presents is excited to announce Sacramento chart topping, genre defying quintet, Dance Gavin Dance’s most ambitious and unique undertaking thus far – Tree City Sessions Volume 2. Earlier this year, CRO-MAGS released their first album in twenty years with the critically-acclaimed In The Beginning. To close out this year of international turmoil and disease, the band announces the 6-song EP, 2020, available worldwide digitally on December 11th. CRO-MAGS also release the eponymous track 2020 – venting all the frustration and rage, CRO-MAGS style, at the unprecedented chaos of this year.  

Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD return with a much overdue new live release entitled Lost Machine – Live. The album was recorded in Québec City during the worldwide touring cycle for the band’s latest studio album The Wake and is out now via Century Media Records.  

As the largest shopping weekend in the United States concludes, Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose spent it celebrating the release of his debut solo EP Controlled Chaos. The EP was released on November 27th via Rise Records to critical and fan acclaim alike. Controlled Chaos shines the spotlight on not only Morgan’s drumming prowess, but his songwriting, singing, and production chops as well. Morgan co-wrote the EP with Sevendust bandmate Clint Lowery.  

Greek melodic metal masters NIGHTFALL will be releasing their back catalogue on vinyl and CD formats! The band’s five most influential albums will be released via Season of Mist in the first two months of 2021. The exact releases are as follows:

Slipknot have announced the first ever Knotfest Brazil which will take place at Sambódromo do Anhembi in São Paulo, on December 19th 2021. More than just a festival, Knotfest is an event that celebrates all cultural aspects of heavy music. Knotfest is a gathering of the biggest and heaviest bands in the world, a phenomenon created by the multi-platinum Slipknot.
