Microsoft announced yesterday that they will be announcing their new console later this year. This console is a little bit larger than the last one and has it comes with a newly designed kinetic motion controller. This is the answer to the announcement of the Playstation 4 three months ago and the WiiU’s release last year.  

Metalmachine.net recently caught up with actor Michael Rooker, recently of Merle fame from the AMC hit “The Walking Dead” was at this years XCON Comic Con in South Carolina and Rooker spoke all things Walking Dead, Harrison Ford and his upcoming role in the Marvel mega blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy Yondu? Even though Archie comics has been around forever, and has recently won the GLAAD award, the writers clearly had to inflict some more innovative first time culture into their comics. The New York Daily News reported that Archie Comics has promoted an upcoming issue of Kevin Keller with this image.  

The highly anticipated new game from the Arkham series has released a full length trailer featuring Deathstroke. This is going to be so phenomenally awesome. On par with the other films the graphics, for cut scenes anyway, look realistic and fantastic. I know that I am not the only one excited about this game.  

Metal Machine had the pleasure of attending XCON in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this weekend. I say pleasure due to the abundance of southern hospitality residing in nerd culture down in the south. The entire weekend was filled with good laughs, buying comics, talking to television stars, and discussing movies with new friends.  

The Jeff Hanneman Memorial Celebration will take place on Thursday, May 23 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles from 3:30 – 7:30PM. Hanneman passed away on May 2 at the age of 49.

TÝR, hailing all the way from the Faroe Islands, are currently recording their new album with producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Aborted, Mercenary) at his studios in Denmark. For drum tracking on this album, TÝR has enlisted the services of George Kollias, one of metal’s most accomplished drummers, primarily known for his work in Nile, as well as Nightfall. Recently reunited hardcore faction LEFT FOR DEAD, having last year played their first show in many years, has not only confirmed more upcoming live appearances, but will also be releasing new material for the first time in nearly two decades.  

The Texan Dark Occult Metal outfit VENOMOUS MAXIMUS has already risen to the status of a heavy hitter in the depths of the underground. Now, the band is ready to finally unleash their album debut Beg Upon The Light. The album will be released in North America on July 2nd via Napalm Records.  Today the band has unveiled the tracklisting, which includes three bonus tracks.  

In 2004, the Chronicles of Riddick aired with a little bit of animosity from the fans. From there we thought the franchise had fallen off with no hopes of returning. Today a new trailer for the second installment for what is slated to be a trilogy appeared. Starring Vin Diesel this film will be the third in the series following Pitch Black’s events in 2000. What makes this film a bit different then the previous is that Diesel is producing it.
