Writer/Director Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, You’re Welcome America) and Funny Or Die have joined forces with Archie Comics, one of the most popular comics ever produced, to bring Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and the Riverdale gang to Broadway in an all-new musical. McKay is slated to bring his singular brand of comedy to the musical, writing the book for the show, with a creative team and timing for a New York run to be announced at a later date.
Greensboro, North Carolina-based IRATA has completed their latest recording, the band’s second full-length, dubbing it Sweet Loris. The album is currently being pressed to vinyl and will see release through Kylesa-founded record label, Retro Futurist, in early October. Additionally, the band will support Kylesa alongside Inter Arma and Indian Handcrafts on an Eastern US tour in conjunction with the album’s release.

Last night, at the Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) music festival in northern Germany, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) and Savatage wowed 80,000-plus attendees with a never-before-attempted music festival performance. Following a 40-minute Savatage set and a 40-minute TSO set, TSO and Savatage band members, across two of the festival’s main stages, performed a perfectly coordinated set of fan-favorites.
