Acclaimed Japanese all-girl heavy metal/teen-pop phenom BABYMETAL has been confirmed as direct tour support for Red Hot Chili Peppers’ first UK tour in five years. BABYMETAL’s sophomore album Metal Resistance(released in April via Sony/RAL) made an impressive debut atop Billboard’s “World Albums” chart and iTunes’ “Top Heavy Metal Albums” chart, while simultaneously entering at #2 on Billboard’s “Hard Rock Albums” chart, #17 on Billboard’s “Top Album Sales” chart and #39 on the overall Billboard 200.  

The original concept was to have four still photographers placed strategically on a Florida set while the five members of Anthrax performed their new song “Monster At The End” live.  Each photographer would hold down his camera’s shutter button continuously for the near-four minute-long song, capturing a steady stream of hundreds of still images.  

As of now, it has been eight years since Amorphis last toured North America. Since then, the band has came overseas for one-off shows from time to time, like Maryland Deathfest for example, but the always-working Finnish metal band has all but missed out on North American fans.  

Brooklyn’s musical alchemists Candiria – long-known for fusing metal, hardcore, jazz, and hip-hop in a unique, inimitable blend – will release their new album, While They Were Sleeping, via Metal Blade Records on October 7th. It was recorded at Spaceman Sound in Brooklyn by Tom Tierney and Alex Mead-Fox, and produced by Candiria. It’s the band’s first album since 2009’s Kiss the Lie.  

In support of their new ‘But Wait…THERE’s MORE 7″/12″/CD ; SEPT 14th D.R.I. and Deathwish will be hitting the road for an 11 day midwest tour. When DEATHWISH comes back they will be finishing the recording of their new full length that will be out spring of 2017!  

HUNTRESS ANNOUNCES FALL U.S. TOUR DATES BAND ALSO SET TO PERFORM AT OZZFEST SEPTEMBER 24 IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA California heavy metal band HUNTRESS kicks off the fall touring season with a string of headlining dates, a coveted slot on Ozzfest (September 24 in San Bernardino, CA) and as support for Trivium and Sabaton on a U.S. run in September and October. The tour marks the band’s first full-scale tour since releasing their third album Static in 2015.  

The multi-platinum Grammy-winning rock band KORN have unveiled the strange and fascinating video for “Insane” today (August 22). Directed by Ryan Valdez, it’s a ghastly take on post-mortem photography or ‘momento mori,’ the practice of preserving loved ones after death with images.

Guitar icon ZAKK WYLDE today has debuted an all new music video for his latest single “Sleeping Dogs” featuring Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman COREY TAYLOR. The track has gone on to become the most successful active rock radio single of Wylde’s career reaching as high as #22 in the U.S. and #11 in Canada. Directed by long time collaborator Justin Reich, the video can be seen below.  

If you told me that one day Carcass and Deafheaven would be doing a tour together, I’d shrug it off. Probably the same way I would have said that they would never tour with Lamb of God, either, but that happened, as well. Now in an effort to prove me wrong, both of those bands have banded together for what is without a doubt an amazing, albeit questionable tour in recent memory.  

Temple of the Dog – the Seattle supergroup featuring Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron (who plays drums with both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam) – has reunited and will tour for the first time ever since forming in 1990.
