BROTHERS OF THE SONIC CLOTH – the Seattle doom brigade featuring iconic guitarist/vocalist Tad Doyle, formerly of Tad and Hog Molly, veteran bassist Peggy Doyle, and drummer Dave French (The Anunnaki) — will level the stages of nine cities with their apocalyptic odes on a long-anticipated bout of West Coast rituals.

Today German dark, primitive metal trio, VALBORG, who feature within their eccentric ranks current and former members of Owl, Klabautamann, Woburn House, Gruenewald, and more, undrape their fifth full-length via Temple Of Torturous. Titled Romantik, the follow-up to 2012’s critically-lauded Nekrodepression offering, thrusts forth six confounding tracks of morose, avant, blackened ambiance. A cerebral sound exhibition into dark and light, atmospheric synthesizers twine around wistful guitars, slowly and deliberately hovering above a foundation of palpitating rhythms, the band’s harsh, German vocal inflections adding further trepidation to their profoundly bleak brand of funeral power doom.
Many bands seek to tow a line they usually set, or follow a fad that restricts what they could be doing. Not so with Leeches of Lore, who, like Primus, Slough Feg, King Crimson, or Geezer, take the paths that the four winds dictate. Or late night movie channels.
