Minneapolis-based shoegaze/folk artisans A WHISPER IN THE NOISE are preparing to release their lush new LP, To Forget, via Exile On Mainstream in North America on April 10th. A WHISPER IN THE NOISE approached the songwriting on this album by drawing upon influences not only from other music (referencing Philip Glass, Roger Waters and Arvo Part) but from nature and in particular its power and atmospheric sounds. The result is a coherent and focused album of true, honest music, shining by its purity and cinematic waves of sound. To Forget is music to sink into and become part of the listener’s emotional landscape.  

Iron Maiden have just released a live clip of the song “Blood Brothers” which is taken from their upcoming EN VIVO! live release. EN VIVO! features the bands live performance on April 10th, 2011 in front of over 50,000 ecstatic fans at the Estadio Nacional, Santiago, during the Round The World In 66 Days leg of The Final Frontier World Tour, and captures a magnificent performance by the band, ardently embraced by the legendary Latino passion and energy of their Chilean fans.  

Horror Pain Gore Death Productions has signed venomous melodic Black/Death Metal destroyers Fiends At Feast and will release their debut EP Shadows Of Extinction on March 27th on CD format. Below is the official description:

Brit stoner metal band released their 7th full length album on Feb. 13th through Candlelight Records. Originally called Our Haunted Kingdom (not sure if the new name was the right choice), they formed in 1995 & haven’t seemed to stop since despite not releasing an album since 2007. They had assured fans it would be worth the wait & I believe it has been.  

To celebrate the May 4th release of the summer’s most anticipated film – Marvel’s THE AVENGERS – RealD & Marvel have teamed to release a set of four character themed RealD 3D glasses. Featuring designs for Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Captain America, beginning in the month of April fans at will be able to collect these limited edition RealD 3D glasses at special events, fan screenings and via upcoming online giveaways. Collector’s Edition Marvel’s THE AVENGERS RealD 3D glasses will also be available at select AMC Theatres, National Amusement Theatres and independent theatres throughout the U.S. beginning as early as midnight on May 3rd.  

Superman vs. The Elite, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies, will receive its World Premiere as WonderCon’s featured evening event for Friday, March 16 in Anaheim.  

Seattle’s monolithic death-tinged doom lords ANHEDONIST will be unleashing their highly-anticipated debut this Spring on Dark Descent Records. Entitled Netherwards, this monstrosity is a sure contender for 2012 Album of the Year. Featuring over forty minutes of mesmerizing doom sliced up into four epic tracks, Netherwards combines crushing riffs, harrowing melodies and an overwhelmingly depressive vibe for unforgettable results.  

On Wednesday, June 6, DC Comics will publish the first of the highly anticipated BEFORE WATCHMEN comic book prequels. BEFORE WATCHMEN: MINUTEMEN, written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke, will be the first issue released the first Wednesday in June, followed in subsequent weeks by BEFORE WATCHMEN: SILK SPECTRE by Darwyn Cooke and Amanda Conner (June 13), BEFORE WATCHMEN: COMEDIAN by Brian Azzarello and J.G. Jones (June 20), and BEFORE WATCHMEN: NITE OWL by J. Michael Straczynski, Andy Kubert and Joe Kubert (June 27). The first issue of BEFORE WATCHMEN: RORSCHACH and BEFORE WATCHMEN: DR. MANHATTAN will be released later in the summer.

Death metal ministers SIX FEET UNDER return with their brand new studio long player Undead in May of 2012!
