Relativity has closed a deal to finance, produced and distribute Anomaly, a live action feature based on the interactive comic book created and written by top showbiz lawyer Skip Brittenham and Brian Haberlin. The script will be written by Ed Ricourt and Joe Roth is producing with Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley. Set in the distant future, Anomaly centers on a disgraced Conglomerate Enforcer who gets a shot at redemption by leading a rag tag group of explorers on a first contact mission to a newly discovered planet.

Madrid’s sci-fi death metal cult, WORMED, are making a cosmic exploration stateside next month with plans to disintegrate six East Coast cities. The probe will commence on October 19th where the band will take part in the fifth edition of the NJ Deathfest in Stanhope, New Jersey. From there, WORMED will voyage through the galaxies of Baltimore, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Montclair before drawing their expedition to a close in an as-yet-undisclosed locale in Boston. WORMED will be joined by California’s Condemned, Japan’s Infernal Revulsion and New Jersey’s Cognitive.

Tampa death metal icons OBITUARY will bring their brutal wares to the stage this Fall on a short series of live assaults. The tour begins with a pair of back-to-back shows at Brooklyn, New York’s Saint Vitus Bar on October 9 and 10, before flattening nine more venues through October 20. Having been holed-up in their own Redneck Studios the last few weeks penning the follow-up to 2009’s punishing Darkest Day full-length (2009), the shows serve as a temporary writing break.
