On their recent Southwest US trek, Tucson-based sludge metal bandits GODHUNTER and Oakland’s cinematic doom outfit SECRETS OF THE SKY were selling a limited-to-100 copies, tour-only, cassette-edition of a new split release between both acts. On this combined effort, entitled GH/0ST:S, both bands supply brand new material, showcasing even further experimentation into each of their respective crafts, with forty minutes of material, including a crushing new opus from each band, as well as a haunting, thematic accompaniment bearing the ghosts theme.

Legendary Punk / Funk / Rock band SNOT has announced that they will be reuniting once again for a full U.S tour in which they will be performing their classic “Get Some” album in it’s entirety. He Is Legend, Thira, and Lydia Can’t Breathe will offer support. The tour kicks off on November 28th in Palm Desert, California and wraps up on December 23rd in Pomona, California. Recently, I have been on a non-traditional metal kick, and have seen some amazing bands. One such forerunner is All Them Witches, an american band out of Nashville Tennessee, who list themselves as Psychedelta Blues, and which could also be described as non-trad Doom with Ozark Mountain Blues threaded in. The band itself is a four piece, who use guitar, bass, drum, and occasional piano/organ to create an amazingly complex sound that is just filled with emotion and depth. The album I started with was the debut, Our Mother Electricity, which is almost perfect. Almost, only because its not just slightly heavier, but it gets any job done. The album is complex, song-wise, as it goes from just a heavy blues/rock sound (Heavy/Like...

In October, fans of Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD will see the New York Times best-selling comic as never before with the publication of THE WALKING DEAD: ALL OUT WAR ARTIST PROOF EDITION. In this 248-page hardcover from Image Comics/Skybound, artist Charlie Adlard’s raw pencils for the twelve-issue arc are reproduced, uninked and unaltered from how they appear on his artboard.  

Norway’s Mysticum will release its long awaited second album Planet Satan on October 27 via Peaceville.
