There is a really good chance your first “black metal” band was Dimmu Borgir, and it was probably “Progenies of the Great Apocalypse” that shocked and surprised you because it wasn’t your average metal band. Heavy metal legends Sevendust are releasing their 12th studio album, All I See Is War, on May 11th via Rise Records. The new album, the first for Rise Records, was recorded last Fall and was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette, known for his work with Alter Bridge; Tremonti; Slash; and others. All I See Is War is the follow up to 2015’s Kill The Flaw, a record that brought the band their highest album sales chart position of their career. We aren’t even a quarter of the way through 2018 yet and three bands have already disbanded within a week of one another. While break-ups are certainly no uncommon event in the world of music, it is still unfortunate to see the following events transpire as they have.
