It’s probably safe to say that legendary Anthrax Guitarist Scott Ian is one of those guys tha says it the way it is. Since the beginings of his band Anthrax, Mr. Ian has had plenty to say about all things metal, politics and frontmen. Metalmachine.net recently caught up with Scott in NYC. he spoke on several subjects, mainly the Lobo comic book he has just finished for DC comics. He also went on a tangent about movies, music and that pesky rumor that his band would tour this summer with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer.
Reprise Records and Serj Tankian have teamed up with theatrical distributor Cinema Purgatorio to present a series of nationwide screenings of Tankian’s Elect the Dead Symphony — a very special orchestral interpretation of Tankian’s critically acclaimed solo debut Elect the Dead. The dynamic one-off performance was recorded and filmed in HD by six cameras at the majestic Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

Them Crooked Vultures, the supergroup comprised of music icons Joshua Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, are set to rock the soundstage of another iconic institution, Saturday Night Live. The band will take the stage live in front of the raucous SNL crowd on February 6th with the show being hosted by Ashton Kutcher. Following their stint on late night television TCV will bring the rock to a handful of cities along the East coast before heading to the desert to play Coachella on April 16.
St. Albans, UK hardcore act, YOUR DEMISE have begun their first trek of North America. Their first ever show on American soil took place on the 20th at The Crossing in Palmdale, CA. All reports say that their first show was a success and that the breakneck energy of the audience was the right way to welcome the band to the country.
