In early June 2014, ARCH ENEMY will unleash their 9th studio album, War Eternal, worldwide via Century Media Records and Trooper Entertainment in Japan. With this upcoming release, the band will introduce a new member to their ranks: Alissa White-Gluz, former vocalist of Canadian extreme metallers THE AGONIST. Angela Gossow, who joined ARCH ENEMY in 2000 and made her debut on the now classic Wages Of Sin (2001), will be stepping down as front-woman and focusing on management, while Alissa takes her place.
Death metal pioneers MASTER are set to make their North American return next month for 2014 North American Witchhunt Tour. Kicking off on April 17 in Philadelphia, MASTER will spend three weeks demolishing North American stages in support of their newest release, The Witchhunt. Currently, Between the Buried and Me are on tour with Intronaut, Deafheaven, and The Kindred. I had the pleasure of seeing them live this past Friday, and was absolutely blown away! It was my first time with all of these bands, including the local opener Moments Till Fall. Every band, whether I was really into them or not, put on a fantastic show, and the tour is very much worth going to see. It’s progressive metal at its finest, and each band definitely had their own take on it! I’ll break it down further now. Baltimore thrash assassins, NOISEM, will undertake their most high profile tour excursion to date next week, as the young crew hits the road on the third annual Decibel Magazine tour. Set to provide their jacked-up, rabid thrash assault as the opening act of the tour, Noisem‘s set will be followed by each night by performances from massive metal luminaries Gorguts, The Black Dahlia Murder, and headliners, Carcass.
