It’s been a while since the world has heard from Cannibal Corpse. The legendary death metal act has been hard at work on a new studio album, their fourteenth full LP, and have announced a forthcoming release date sometime this fall. What’s more excited? The tour coming with it.  

Long Beach, California’s RIVAL SONS are kicking off their European summer tour today at Les Nuits de la Guitare festival in France. The band are playing a number of festivals across the continent, including Lollapalooza Paris and the UK’s Ramblin’ Man Fair and Steelhouse Festival.  RIVAL SONS recently wrapped up a monumental tour supporting heavy metal legends BLACK SABBATH for the band’s last ever shows.  

Swedish thrash metallers THE HAUNTED will soon unleash their upcoming ninth studio album entitled, “Strength In Numbers”, on August 25, 2017 worldwide via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS. Over the years, a whole new appreciation has developed for the “Blaze Bayley era” of Iron Maiden – which resulted in such classic albums as 1995’s ‘X Factor’ and 1998’s ‘Virtual XI’ (and the singles “Man on the Edge,” “Lord of the Flies,” “The Angel and the Gambler,” “Futureal,” and an all-new track on 1996’s Best of the Beast comp, “Virus”).  

 Integrity are a bit of an interesting band. While rooted in hardcore and early metalcore, the band has ceased to be pigeonholed to their roots and expanded into darker, sometimes experimental territories. At twelve albums into their career, the band still manages to surprise listeners, even when they claim to be familiar with their sound. So should you expect some curveballs on Howling, for the Nightmare Shall Consume? Yeah, that’s a safe bet.  

Coming back in a spectacular fashion last year, Wolves in the Throne Room resurfaced with a US tour that sold out many of its dates. The atmospheric black metal group announced a few weeks ago their forth coming album, Thrice Woven, and now they’re following it up with tour dates with Pillorian.  

TMZ is reporting the Chester Bennington, Lead singer of the band Linkin Park, has committed suicide. Cause of death by hanging. Bennington was found at his private residence in L.A. County this morning, Thursday, July 20th at 9 am. Linkin Park rose to fame in the late 90’s – 2000’s and gave rise to “Nu- Metal” as bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit and others popularized the genre. Bennington spoke in the past about suicide as he struggled with drugs and child abuse. The band was currently on the “One More Light Tour”. More info as it comes.  

Vocalist Chester Bennington, lead vocalist for Linkin Park and former Stone Temple Pilots vocalist, is being reported to have passed today unexpectedly.  

Ensiferum are the folk metal band that everyone is exposed to at some point or another. Typically when you think of folk metal and the sonic aspects of it, Ensiferum is the first band that’ll comes to mind. While the band has been steady with their releases in the past few years, they always manage to resurface just as you’re beginning to wonder where they went. Following that trend, the band have revealed their new album, Two Paths, is on the way.
