TMZ is reporting the Chester Bennington, Lead singer of the band Linkin Park, has committed suicide. Cause of death by hanging. Bennington was found at his private residence in L.A. County this morning, Thursday, July 20th at 9 am. Linkin Park rose to fame in the late 90’s – 2000’s and gave rise to “Nu- Metal” as bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit and others popularized the genre. Bennington spoke in the past about suicide as he struggled with drugs and child abuse. The band was currently on the “One More Light Tour”. More info as it comes.

While on their run opening for Metallica a few months ago, Volbeat had originally scheduled an headlining date in New Jersey. The day before the show, the band were forced to reschedule it as vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen went to be with his wife, who had just given birth back in Denmark. Fulfilling their promise to make the date up, Volbeat returned to New Jersey Monday night, the 17th, and with it they brought up a few surprises.
