When I was in 9th grade, I had a very hard time accepting that there was never going to be another Revocation in my life. The technical wizardry that came with 2009’s Existence is Futile pushed my listening habits further in the thrash metal revival that was going on at the time, and because of myself and many others Revocation have gone on to survive that fad and continue to push themselves to where they are now as a band.  Discovering Revocation was a one of a kind feeling, but the closest I’ve ever felt to that feeling again was hearing California’s Madrost for the first time.

After splitting with Megadeth, both Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover collaborated and put a new band together, drafting ex-Scar the Martyr vocalist Henry Derek and Shadows Fall bassist into Act of Defiance. Their first album, Birth and the Burial, was a success in getting  the band’s name out there, and now they’ve come out of hiding with a new album on the horizon and a new song ready to go.

Legendary LA Hard Rockers AUTOGRAPH have signed a deal with EMP LABEL GROUP who will release their forthcoming album GET OFF YOUR ASS October 6th on CD and Digital, with a limited edition vinyl LP version available in November. GET OFF YOUR ASS is the first official studio LP from the revamped quartet, featuring original/founding members guitarist Steve Lynch and bassist Randy Rand, alongside new vocalist/rhythm guitarist Simon Daniels, and drummer Marc Wieland.

If you’ve seen Periphery on their tour for Periphery III: Select Difficulty, then one should have noticed that lack of a bass player on stage. It was announced at the album’s reveal that bassist Adam “Nolly” Getgood would not be playing live with the band due to production commitments. While fans remained optimistic, Nolly announced that he would be leaving the band permanently.

Vattnet (Formerly Vattnet Viskar) have been gearing up to release a new album for a few months now. With the debut of “Dark Black” in June, the band showcased a new direction, one that separated them from the post-black metal sound they were attached to prior. As they detail their new self-titled album, (Simply titled Vattnet) that trend continues, especially on their new single.
