Richard & Son Theater in New York on Wednesday, July 27 as part of iHeartRadio Live, a Clear Channel entertainment production that features private performances and interviews with today’s top recording artists. The band will play songs from their popular new album American Tragedy along with other hits.

Iconic rock front man, Michael Monroe, will release his new cd Sensory Overdrive in the U.S and Canada on August 23rd on Spinefarm/ Universal. The new cd from the former front man of the influential band Hanoi Rocks was produced by legendary producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon, Cheap Trick).
Swedish tech-death destroyers Volturyon have been confirmed to take part in the Eastern Death Infernal Tour 2011 with Demonical. The tour will run from October 26th to November 12th, focusing mainly on Baltic and Eastern European territories. Shows in Warsaw, Budapest, Bucharest and Berlin have been booked with the rest of the dates to be confirmed soon. Additional support will come from Hungary’s Slytract.
Leading up to San Diego Comic-Con 2011, comics fans and the comics news media buzzed with rumors that Brian K. Vaughan, the acclaimed writer of Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways and Pride of Baghdad, was returning to comics. Vaughan’s return was confirmed at Image Comics’ Kirkman Talks Creator-Owned panel Saturday, when Vaughan announced that he is launching SAGA, an all-new ongoing title co-created with artist Fiona Staples, at Image in 2012.
Winnipeg-based bruisers Annex Theory are gearing up for a ten-date assault that will see the band storm across the Canadian countryside with progressive death metallers Laika in support of their recently-released digital EP Beneath The Skin. Alabama’s Grave Ritual have been added to the lineup for this year’s Gathering of the Bestial Legion at The Proud Bird in Los Angeles, CA on August 27th. Grave Ritual will join legends like Incantation and Autopsy, Dark Descent Records labelmates Goreaphobia and several others for one of the most extreme death metal shows 2011 has seen thus far.
So just finished watching Captain America: The First Avenger. Went to a midnight showing here in NYC. This won’t be a typical review, as I want you all that will be going to see the movie this weekend to enjoy. Let me just say first off I am an Avenger’s purist. Been reading, collecting and talking Avengers for over 30 years. With that said I think Marvel is doing a great job with these movie renditions of said comic book characters.
