Winnipeg, Manitoba’s ANNEX THEORY has exploded onto the scene like a supernova, ready to

unleash its music upon unsuspecting listeners everywhere.

Formed in 2008 by former QUO VADIS vocalist Trevor Birnie and young guitar virtuoso Sam Jacobs, ANNEX THEORY set out to create a truly unique sound, fusing an original multi-vocal style that can only be experienced to believe with crushing groove, silky smooth technicality, monstrous hooks, and dense atmosphere. The duo recruited Wade Forshaw (guitars), Matt Rutowicz (keyboards), Adam Jefkins (drums), and Jordan Fehr (bass) to set launch the act into orbit and beyond. The band has opened for DESPISED ICON, MISERY INDEX NEURAXIS, ELECTRO QUARTERSTAFF, THE CONTORTIONIST, LAST CHANCE TO REASON, SUFFOKATE and many others.

Upon signing to Pivotal Rockordings, ANNEX THEORY immediately began making preparations to release their debut EP, Beneath The Skin. This four-song slab of rage and technical prowess will be unleashed upon the world in June of 2011 via all major digital retailers, with physical

copies available exclusively through the band. Beneath the Skin was produced and mixed

by Carlin “Lemon” Heibert, cousin of COMEBACK KID guitarist Jeremy Heibert, and

was mastered by TESSERACT guitarist Acle Kahney.

Earlier this year, the band revealed the artwork for the EP, which was designed by drummer Adam Jefkins-who had also previously wrapped up assisting in costume design for the 2011 feature length film “Goon,” starring Seann William Scott (American Pie, Role Models) and Jay Bruchel (How To Train Your Dragon, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Tropic Thunder).

ANNEX THEORY is:

Trevor Birnie – Vocals

Sam Jacobs – Guitars/Vocals/Programming

Wade Forshaw – Guitar/Vocals

Matthew Rutowicz – Keys

Adam Jefkins – Drums/Programming

Jordan Fehr – Bass

Praise for Beneath The Skin

“…the EP shows a lot of potential from Annex Theory, and it’s pretty hard to deny that it leaves the listener expecting great things from the band on future releases. If you happen to get the opportunity to hear Beneath the Skin, definitely take the take to at least hear the tracks following the openning song “Beneath the Skin”, as they are well worth experiencing.” [8/10]Apochs.net

I must confess that I was absolutely blown away by this EP. I definitely wasn’t expecting anything this amazing when I first acquired my promo copy. Annex Theory are one of the finest deathcore bands I’ve ever heard, and this EP is one that all fans of extreme melodic metal need to check out. Beneath the Skin is an excellent purchase for just about everyone, and a big 4 star rating is well-deserved. I’ll be keeping a very close eye on these guys – I have a feeling they could really make a legendary debut full-length.” [4/5] – Sea Of Tranquility
