It has been three years since Cryptopsy‘s last release and many fans have expressed their eagerness to hear new material. This time, rather than a full album, the band will release a series of EPs entitled The Book of Suffering. This new approach will allow Cryptopsy to put out new music more often while remaining true to their standards of quality. The first EP in the series, The Book of Suffering Tome 1, was produced by Chris Donaldson at The Grid studio in Montreal, mixed by Jason Suecoff at Audiohammer Studio and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
In conjunction with Relapse’s 25th anniversary celebrations, Cleveland hardcore stalwarts Ringworm have been confirmed alongside Relapse brethren Pig Destroyer and Skinless for this December’s Denver Black Sky festival! The third iteration of the annual Relapse-sponsored fest, which will also feature Havok, Nekrofilth, Khemmis, and more, will take place on December 5th, 2015 at Denver’s Gothic Theatre.

Brazilian extremists NERVOCHAOS are set to bring their devastating brand of old-school death/thrash to the U.S. for the Crucified Resurrection Tour. NERVOCHAOS will be playing alongside black/death metal veterans INSATANITY for the three-week trek that kicks off October 16 at Fubar in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Tenessee’s Whitechapel are hitting the road throughout November with Australia’s Psycroptic and new Metal Blade label mates, Culture Killer. The tour will be visiting cities throughout the Midwest and east coast, including some places the band has never been to, before. One-man industrial doom magus, Tristan Shone, more commonly known as AUTHOR & PUNISHER, will bring his tectonic-shifting sound conjurings to the stage next month on a lengthy North American headlining tour. The proceedings will commence on September 17th in Los Angeles and crumble the infrastructures of fourteen venues through October 2nd in Boston. From there, Shone will take a brief respite before pillaging another fourteen venues on a second leg of the tour beginning November 3rd in Brooklyn and running through November 21st in San Diego. In less than two weeks, after a year-and-a-half hiatus, Portland, Maine’s blackened rock’n’roll outfit, ZUD, will return to the stage, headlining day two of the first Shadow Woods Metal Festival on September 26th – the new mid-Atlantic, open-air, camping-based metal fest — in White Hall Maryland, just north of Baltimore. With the likes of Midnight, Occultation, Wormreich, Dreadlords and Sangharsha, and over two-dozen others at the two-day event, Shadow Woods can be expected to be a game changer in festivals held on the East Coast.
