This past weekend saw a huge 3 day event simply monickered FreakTulsa; featuring metal ranging from Death Metal to Fuzz Meta, Doom to Psyche Rock and it simply DECIMATED in Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you weren’t there, you probably got to sleep quite a bit, but holy reverb, did you miss 3 evenings worth of fuzz, volume, riffs, and did I say VOLUME?! Progressive death metal faction, ARKAIK, will embark upon a fifteen-date US headlining tour this Summer. The Make America Shred Again Tour 2016 will run from July 2nd through July 24th. Support will be provided by Vale Of Pnath and Singularity with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
Colorado’s supreme doom metal quartet, KHEMMIS, has confirmed a series of tour dates preceding and including the band’s impending performance at the mighty maiden installation of Migration Fest this August. Additionally, the band enters the studio today in order to bring their second album to fruition.
AUTHOR & PUNISHER, led by one-man industrial doom enigma, Tristan Shone, will haul its steel through the motorways of North America this Spring as direct support for Weedeater. Shone’s latest excursion commences with the previously announced dates which run from March 14th and through April 3rdand include a performance at this year’s edition of SXSW in Austin.
Sirens is the forthcoming new full-length from long-running Stockholm hardcore crust troopers, VICTIMS. Set for official detonation on April 15th via Tankcrimes Records, the band’s first full-length since 2011’s acclaimed A Dissident LP was tracked at Studio Gutterview by Fred Estby (Dismember, At The Gates, Refused), mastered at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (Iron Reagan, Nails, Integrity), and features the expected white-knuckled surges of angst as well as some more expansive elements throughout the album, all enshrouded in a barbed-wire vocal delivery, packed with unstoppable gang-chants and inescapable hooks.
