The world of MORIARTY just got a little bigger with the announcement that Mike Vosburg will serve as guest artist for MORIARTY #7. Famed for his work in Marvel, DC and HBO’s Tales from the Crypt TV series, Vosburg joins writer Daniel Corey and artist Anthony Diecidue in creating a special flashback sequence for the 3rd chapter in The Lazarus Tree storyline.  

Modern UK metallers THE SOULLESS (formerly IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION) have confirmed a new UK tour with BURY TOMORROW.  

At A Loss Recordings have confirmed the release date for the limited LP edition of WHITEHORSE‘s latest mammoth full-length, Progression. Following an initial CD release via Sweat Lung early last year as the band stormed the U.S. alongside The Body, At A Loss officially released the album via digital download in July, harvesting drop-jawed reactions from extreme doom/sludge fans and critics.  

Earlier this year, Usagi Yojimbo creator Stan Sakai was named the 2011 Cultural Ambassador by the Japanese American National Museum. Shortly thereafter, the JANM opened their Year of the Rabbit exhibit—the most comprehensive collection of Sakai’s work to date.  

Arizona thrashers HEMOPTYSIS have released a music video for the track “M.O.D.,” taken from their latest album Misanthropic Slaughter. The video was shot earlier this month in an abandon warehouse in Vail, AZ. Production and direction came courtesy of Sean Sinerius and Robert Jaime at Big Shot Studios. Winnipeg, Canada’s ANNEX THEORY, which features in its ranks former QUO VADIS vocalist Trevor Birnie, has released the following footage taken from the band’s Eastern Canadian tour supporting LAIKA:  

North Carolina based power trio, BLACK SKIES, will set out on a 16-date tour next month. The short stint, which includes two stops in Canada, will officially begin on November 14 in Asheville. The band will be touring in support of their self-released On The Wings Of Time full-length, which is currently available at their shows on digital download cards included with the purchase of a limited edition, silk-screened poster.  

The wildly-progressive German metal quartet OBSCURA has announced their first ever North American headline tour in support of their latest album Omnivium. The tour will start Nov. 4 in Wilmington, Delaware and run through Dec. 7 with support from label-mates ABYSMAL DAWN, LAST CHANCE TO REASON (select dates) and ENFOLD DARKNESS (select dates).  

DEAD are back! With more energy, intensity, brutality and morbidity than ever before, new album Hardnaked…but Dead will be released by FDA Rekotz in Germany on November 18th and worldwide on November 21st. Disgusting, emotional and sawing guitars meet blast-beats, heavy grooves and puking vocals, Hardnaked…but Dead is DEAD’s best album since their re-union and a guaranteed death metal milestone.  

OVERKILL have announced a brand new batch of dates aptly dubbed “KILLFEST 2.” Supporting will be Belphegor, Aborted, Blackguard, System Divide and Diamond Plate.  

So, The NY Comic Con 2012 came and went, and what a “Came”it was! Over 100,000 in attendance. DC, Marvel, Image, Capcom, Hasbro…to many to name. Metal Machine was front and center.
