North Carolina based power trio, BLACK SKIES, will set out on a 16-date tour next month. The short stint, which includes two stops in Canada, will officially begin on November 14 in Asheville. The band will be touring in support of their self-released On The Wings Of Time full-length, which is currently available at their shows on digital download cards included with the purchase of a limited edition, silk-screened poster. A CD version with alternate cover art will also be available at shows during the tour. The album will be available in downloadable format through various online outlets beginning November 8. Guitarist/vocalist Kevin Clark, drummer Tim Herzog and bassist/vocalist Michelle Temple — have been blowing speakers with their bottom-end brand since 2005, perpetually adding to their unique brand of psychedelic sludge with every offering. With a combination of the foreboding heaviness of blues-based proto-metal, the DIY attitude and approach of punk, and the dynamics of progressive rock, their songs often project a dark and urgent energy. On The Wings Of Time is the follow-up to the band’s 2008 Hexagon EP and was recorded, produced and mastered by Harvey Milk’s Kyle Spence at his own RJS studios in Athens, Georgia.
