TRILLION RED is pleased to introduce a unique blend of hammering ambiance and dark metallic rhythms – the band’s self-released debut EP Two Tongues. FUNimation ® Entertainment has acquired the second film based on the popular Fullmetal Alchemist franchise, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS (also known as Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Sei naru Hoshi), which is set to premiere in Japan on July 2nd, 2011.  

INEVITABLE END are currently streaming their brand new album The Oculus online now at HailsAndHorns.com. The Oculus was recorded at HoBoRec Studio in Huskvarna, Sweden with producer Ulf Blomberg and will see its North American release next Tuesday, May 24th. Madrid, Spain’s LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER has posted “Cheerleaders Para El Armagedon” taken from their forthcoming album Eterno Treblinka online now via the band’s MySpace and Facebook pages. Eterno Treblinka, which shares a title with the Charles Patterson book about animal rights, was recorded at FDS and VRS studios in Madrid and was engineered by Samuel Ruiz.  

EARTH CRISIS have scheduled their hardest hitting piece of work in recent memory, ‘Neutralize the Threat’ for a July 12th release date. The most controversial band in hardcore also teamed with artist Ryan Clark to create the artwork surrounding the latest album culminating in the outstanding cover that is pictured here.

As regular readers of these collected editions will know, I sketch out pretty much all of the cover roughs for this series in my notebook at the start of the creative process. Here are the last of those scribbled ideas, alongside the polished, professional finished versions by Frank Quitely.  

While those of us who are left behind are facing whatever this “apocalypse” may mean, I did want to say a little farewell to someone who meant a lot to me as a kid. It’s not my usual comic agenda, but please read along as I bid a fond adieu to perhaps the only straight man who could get away with all of that spandex, fringe and bedazzled clothing.
