There’s a lot of talk out there these days, and really in recent years, about Hollywood being “out of ideas.” This is one reason that many of the biggest and most successful films of recent years have been re-makes and sequels, and massive franchises like Marvel movies based on old comics, etc. As a consequence of the seeming lack of new ideas, many are turning to other forms of casual entertainment.
Continuing to set the gold standard in comics preservation, IDW Publishing’s Library of American Comics, in partnership with DC Entertainment, will release the amazing never-before reprinted adventures of Superman that appeared in the Sunday newspapers for more than twenty-five years. The strips will be releases in in chronological order in three sub-sets: the 1940s Golden Age, the 1950s Atomic Age, and the 1960s Silver Age.
Cannibal Corpse will be wrapping up their 25th anniversary celebrations for 2013 with a pair of shows in Florida, which has served as the band’s base of operations since relocating to Tampa from Buffalo, NY in 1994. The shows are scheduled for November 29th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at the Culture Room and November 30th in Tampa, FL at the Brass Mug. SEVENDUST’s touring schedule isn’t close to ending anytime soon. In addition to their own slew of headlining dates, the Atlanta band has announced that they’ll be a part of the “From Death To Destiny Tour” along with Asking Alexandria, All That Remains, Emmure and For Today, which kicks off October 26 in Lubbock, TX at the Lonestar Amphitheatre (as part of “FMX Freak Fest”).
