This Tuesday, a quite lovely little album from Darkest Era happened to grace the world with its presence. I am, of course, talking of Severance. It’s a bit more traditional than some of the other releases of late, in that its simply a great metal album. Specifically, because I know some of you HAVE to have a genre, its a Melodic release, similar in fashion to Rhapsody of Fire or Iron Maiden, and a few others. Nothing but fine singing, metal riffing, and some epic Celtic musicianship.

Tucson’s caustic metal outfit, LETHAL DOSAGE, has confirmed the second tour in support of their sophomore full-length, Consume. Following their Consume The Southwest run in February, preceding the release of Consume, the latest LETHAL DOSAGE run will now take place on a more widespread level, venturing well beyond the extreme Southwestern region into Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico in addition to their native Arizona. Portland’s AGALLOCH is readying to embark upon a full North American Summer excursion. Set to commence June 18th in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Serpens In Cvlmination tour will wind its way through nearly two-dozen cities, coming to a ceremonial close on July 8th in Denver, Colorado.
