Torture Division’s Evighetens Dårar Now Available  Evighetens Dårar, the latest offering from Swedish death metal masters TORTURE DIVISION is now available through Abyss Records. The Digi-CD compiles material from the trio’s Evighetens Dårar I (2009), Evighetens Dårar II (2010), and Evighetens Dårar III (2010) demos and was mixed/mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios. In preparation for the release, TORTURE DIVISION has posted several tracks from the album, including “Traumatic Inhuman Severance,” “Total Death Punishment” and “Overtorture (Bound To Be Dead)” on their myspace page.

SNAIL GAMES today announced that its browser-based MMO Heroes of Gaia has exceeded 10 million plays on Kongregate.com, making the free-to-play title Kongregate’s most-played MMO to date, as well as the most-played overall game of 2010 on the popular Flash game portal.  Heroes of Gaia reached this milestone in less than 11 months, averaging more than 1 million plays per month.

Dark Descent Records has just completed a deal to release the complete CD discography from classic Swedeath metallers Toxaemia. Tentatively set for a January/February 2001 release, the CD will contain everything every released by the band, including Kaleidoscopic Lunacy, the Buried to Rot demos and the Beyondthe Realm EP (released by Seraphic Decay), as well as previously unreleased material recorded during the Buried to Rot sessions.

Eternal Descent comic book presales for issue #5 are now available. Issue #5 features guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel of popular metal band Atreyu . In the storyline inspired by the Atreyu song “Black Days Begin” from the album “Congregation of the Damned”, the battle of Wayne Static from the previous issue has left the city in smoldering ruins and Lyra Constance burning with a new determination: find Loki and bring his reign of madness to an end once and for all. Calling Pink Floyd heavy metal is a stretch and I know that as I set out to write this review, however their influence in heavy metal is prominent considering bands like Korn, Voivod and 1349 have all covered a Pink Floyd song over the course of their careers. On the heels of the cancellation of their European tour, Austin, TX’s The Sword are also regretfully canceling the remainder of their scheduled US dates due to the departure of their drummer, Trivett Wingo.  The split is amicable and both Trivett and the rest of the band wish each other the best of the luck with their respective plans.  The Sword are already working diligently to reschedule their European and US dates.  Trivett explains:
