Copenhagen-based ANTI RITUAL has unchained their self-titled debut 12″ upon the masses via Indisciplinarian and Vendetta Records.  

Dark Melodic Metallers DEATHWHITE have announced the upcoming release of the Ethereal EP on July 1. Ethereal is the band’s first full sonic representation, recorded in the spring of 2014 with producer/engineer Matt Very at Very Tight Studios. An additional song, “A Burden to Carry,” is also included, having been recorded in the fall of 2013 during a separate studio session. The band has posted the song “When I (Wasn’t) You” at deathwhite.bandcamp.com. Formed in 2012 from several holdovers of well-established extreme metal bands, DEATHWHITE was created as means to explore new avenues for its members. In turn, the band’s sound is heavily influenced by KATATONIA, mid-90’s... 

FDA Rekotz has announced the June 20 release of The Summoning from old school Swedish Death Metallers ENDING QUEST.  

DragonForce have announced former Braindamage and Kill Ritual drummer Gee Anzalone has joined the band. A native of Turin, Italy, Gee is a drum teacher who graduated from the NAMM Academy of Milan and carries on the well established multi-national mix of musicians that make up DragonForce.  

Southern Lord Recordings is beyond stoked to broadcast that influential, visionary metal act, TODAY IS THE DAY, has joined with the label’s roster for the release of their massively anticipated tenth studio album later this year.  

The misadventures of New Jersey thrash n’ rollers HAMMER FIGHT continue with the release of the official music video for “Ginger Rails.” The song comes off the band’s newest release, Chug of War and features cinematic direction by DCintheCity Productions.

Baltimore’s Reptilian Records is preparing to unload the scum-coated, riotous debut LP from Detroit noise rock/hardcore bastards, BEIGE EAGLE BOYS.  

Dallas-based apocalyptic doom act, DEAD TO A DYING WORLD, has just wrapped-up tracking their sophomore LP, Litany, with Billy Anderson (Sleep, Neurosis, Melvins). Featuring collaborations and contributions from members of Sabbath Assembly, Pallbearer, Pinkish Black, and Ecocide, the album will be delivered in a massive 2xLP setup. Anderson will complete production on the album as the final factors of the album’s impending release later in the year are sorted in the coming weeks.  

The five-piece punk/metalcore group Illuminate Me has announced the pre-orders for their new album I Have Become a Corpse. The full-length will be out on July 15th via Tragic Hero Records and features some of the best guest vocalists in the business. Garrett Rapp (The Color Morale), Jerry Roush (ex-Of Mice & Men and current vocalist for Glasscloud), and Landon Tewers (The Plot In You) have all left their stamp on this passionate record.  

This Tuesday, a quite lovely little album from Darkest Era happened to grace the world with its presence. I am, of course, talking of Severance. It’s a bit more traditional than some of the other releases of late, in that its simply a great metal album. Specifically, because I know some of you HAVE to have a genre, its a Melodic release, similar in fashion to Rhapsody of Fire or Iron Maiden, and a few others. Nothing but fine singing, metal riffing, and some epic Celtic musicianship.
