Heavy metal fans around Europe now have something to look forward to as VIMIC prepares for their first ever world tour. Founded by metal god Joey Jordison (formerly of Slipknot), VIMIC combines heavy guitar riffs with unearthly drums patterns that Jordison is known for.  

By Hunter Cooke…. It’s not often you see an original, good heavy metal band that’s still around today creating new music while not sounding stale. I don’t consider myself a classic heavy metal guy but I have listened to my fair share of it, especially through my childhood. Tygers of Pan Tang are a heavy metal band from England that have been around since 1978 and have now again been active since 1999. Their new self-titled album mixes a classic heavy metal aspect with thrash undertones and plenty of high pitched vocals and solos.  

Coming on the strength of their new, sophomore album Memento Mori, GEMINI SYNDROME have announced their first wave of dates in 2017, which will see the band touring as direct support to Starset in the US. The band commented on their upcoming shows in the new year, stating:

Brooklyn, New York record store Rough Trade NYC will host an ENSLAVED LP signing session this Sunday, December 11th following the previous evening’s massive ENSLAVED twenty-fifth anniversary concert at Gramercy Theatre. This all-ages Rough Trade event will open at 1:00pm; entry is automatic with the LP purchase of ENSLAVED‘s recently released The Sleeping Gods – Thorn reissue.  

KORN–one of the most influential rock bands of modern times-have been nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best Metal Performance” category for “Rotting In Vain.” News of the nomination this week coincides with line-up announcements for major U.S. rock fests Carolina Rebellion and Rock On The Range where KORN will helm headlining slots on each this coming May.  

Third String Festivals recently announced the 10th Anniversary celebration of So What?! Music Festival taking place March 24th-26th. To celebrate this occasion in the biggest way possible, they will be taking over multiple venues in Deep Ellum on Friday, March 24th to kick off the weekend and then bring some of the best names in the scene to AirHogs Stadium (formerly known as QuikTrip Park) on Saturday and Sunday (March 25th and 26th).

AMARANTHE are finally bringing MAXIMALISM to North America. The band has just announced a U.S. headline tour for 2017, with support from Failure Anthem, Citizen Zero, Cypher 16, and Smash Into Pieces. The tour is the band’s first in support of its latest glorious opus, MAXIMALISM, which came out in October via Spinefarm Records and featured the unforgettable, fist-pumping anthem “That Song.” Listen to it HERE.
