After completing a comprehensive European tour together with Century Media Records labelmates Entombed A.D., Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD are wrapping up a busy year of promoting their latest release entitled Post Society – EP. VOIVOD has just posted a music video the title track (below).  

Metal Blade Records (Celebrating their 35th Anniversary), Scorpions, and the Rainbow Bar and Grill have just joined the list of Metal Royalty who have been nominated for induction into the 2017 Hall of Heavy Metal History. The All-Star Induction Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Anaheim Expo Center, Anaheim CA. Television and Radio Legend Eddie Trunk will host the event.  

With work underway for a new studio album release in 2017, Swedish Thrash Metallers THE HAUNTED have extended their long-standing cooperation with Century Media Records by signing a new worldwide deal with the label. Additionally, several new tour dates with Meshuggah in the UK & Ireland in January as well as with label-mates Arch Enemy and Lacuna Coil in Central Europe in March/April have recently been announced.  

Fueled By Ramen Recording group Twenty One Pilots have debuted a collaborative studio piece, which captures the duo recreating their songs, “Heathens,” “Heavydirtysoul,” “Ride,” “Tear In My Heart,” and “Lane Boy” live with MUTEMATH. Shot and directed by longtime collaborator Reel Bear Media, the studio session is streaming now on Twenty One Pilots’ official YouTube channel with the tracks also available for free download via WeTransfer.  

Swedish melancholic death doomers OCTOBER TIDE premiere a music video for the song “Reckless Abandon”, taken from their latest album “Winged Waltz”. The video was directed by Bloudengaztia Wolfgang at Dronicon Films.  

On January 12 and 13th 2017, YOSHIKI will make his Carnegie Hall debut with “YOSHIKI CLASSICAL: Featuring Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.” Although known as the founder, songwriter and drummer of X JAPAN, YOSHIKI is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, composer, and musician. Having composed the 2012 Golden Globe Awards theme song, he also composed and performed an orchestral piece and piano concerto to commemorate the Japanese Emperor’s 10th anniversary of his reign.

The Members of the band Anthrax have sent an open letter to Uber Manager Irving Azoff in conjunction with his new venture. Azoff’s performing rights society startup, Global Music Rights, represents the catalogue of 71 songwriters, works performed by such artists like ‪John Lennon, ‪Justin Bieber, ‪Smokey Robinson, Steve Miller, ‪Shakira and Drake. Seems Anthrax has been caught in this web of should they or shouldn’t they be included in this up coming battle.
