As they gear up for the first tour in support of their ninth studio album, Kingdoms Disdained, it’s safe to say that Morbid Angel is back on track. Though the current line-up is almost entirely different from their previous studio effort, the band’s fan base were more than excited when it was revealed that former bassist and vocalist Steve Tucker would be rejoining the band to write a “death metal” album. Flash forward nearly three years, the album’s out, and a tour is quickly approaching. We got the chance to talk with Tucker for a few minutes, asking questions concerning the new album, the current vibe in the Morbid Angel camp, and bands touring full albums for their anniversary.  

This Fall, multi-platinum Grammy-nominated band Goo Goo Dolls will embark on the SiriusXM Presents: Goo Goo Dolls – Dizzy Up The Girl 20th Anniversary Tour, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their iconic album, Dizzy Up The Girl. The band will be performing the record in its entirety at each show, followed by an additional set packed with surprises and more of their many unforgettable hits.  

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of long-time running NWOBHM legends Satan to its roster. The heavy metal quintet has signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade and has just finished recordings for their tentative new album to be released during the second half of 2018!  

I’m rather vocal about how much rock music today is lacking. With a lack of forward momentum and the sound of the genre becoming stagnant, most bands tend to lean towards being a pop act. I did a whole article on this, but in that observation Monster Magnet wasn’t mentioned once. For good reason, Monster Magnet are a rock band from the NJ area that are now boasting twelve albums, ranging from catchy hard rock to 70’s inspired stoner rock. Breaking form the mold and going about the genre in a passionate manner is the most genuine way to write music, and upon seeing the band live, you can easily tell just how much love goes into performing to a room full of fans in front of them. There’s no veil separating... 

Two of rock’s most notable live bands, 311 and The Offspring, announced they are teaming up for the Never-Ending Summer Tour, a fun-filled summer amphitheater outing with special guests Gym Class Heroes. The tour will also make stops at select regional events throughout the summer. See below for itinerary.  

Heavy metal legends Sevendust have unveiled a new music video for another song from their upcoming 12th studio album, All I See Is War, scheduled for release on May 11th via Rise Records. “Not Original” is the second track released and the video for the song can be seen here:

It takes a lot to go out on a tour by yourself. But if it’s one thing that Steel Panther has, it’s balls. They won’t let you forget that either, since the band is very quick to tell you that all four of its members have male body parts. Not without making you laugh, of course. To summarize, Steel Panther are excellent musicians who know how to put on a show and celebrate 80’s hair metal, but all the while poking fun of it in the most juvenile, crude, and hilarious way possible.  

D.O.A., Canada’s legendary pioneering punks who set the bar high for punk and basically invented hardcore, are ready to rip it up on the occasion of their 40th anniversary. They have a brand new album called Fight Back and they are embarking on a worldwide tour to support this impressive new effort.  

Virginia’s WINDHAND have entered the studio to record their 4th studio album. The album, entitled Eternal Return, is being recorded and engineered at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle, WA with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High on Fire). Album artwork will once again be handled by Arik Roper (Sleep, High on Fire).
