For over thirty years, audiences have been simultaneously captivated and appalled as the spaceship Nostromo is invaded and its crew stalked by a terrifying parasitic creature. From the gore of the infant alien bursting from Kane’s chest to the mounting claustrophobia as Ripley discovers the monster has followed her into the escape shuttle, Alien is a chilling masterpiece.  

  Shot in February 1996, the original House of the Damned marked the directorial debut of Sean Weathers. Inspired by THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD and EVIL DEAD movies as well as THE TWILIGHT ZONE television series, Weathers wanted this film to be something that combined all of the things he enjoyed watching as a kid, shot with an all black cast, which is a first for a film of this genre.  

The iconic legend Flash Gordon is making his dynamic splash back into comics with Dynamite Entertainment this November! Flash Gordon – Zeitgeist #1 is written by Eric Trautmann (Vampirella, Red Sonja), from a story and designs by Alex Ross (Project: Superpowers, Kingdom Come, Marvels), and illustrated by Daniel Lindro!  

After last year’s critically and commercially successful collaboration on the Green Hornet, Kevin Smith and Dynamite Entertainment are reuniting once again, with the creative team that brought the flagship Green Hornet series to fans; Phil Hester, Jonathan Lau, and Alex Ross on covers!

 Paul D’Amour, founding member of Tool and Lusk, returns to the world of heavy music with Feersum Ennjin’s self titled debut on Nov.1, marking D’Amour’s first rock release since 1995’s Aenima.  

ATROCIOUS is a gruesome, mind-bending thriller shot in a style reminiscent of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. The horror film excerpts found footage from a film reel recovered by Spanish police, documenting a family of five discovering the truth behind a dangerous urban legend.  

Oh my goodness! Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin is on HBO as is True Blood. The final Harry Potter has been released. All of the individual “Avengers” flicks have come out. I just may have my own super powers!  

So just finished watching Captain America: The First Avenger. Went to a midnight showing here in NYC. This won’t be a typical review, as I want you all that will be going to see the movie this weekend to enjoy. Let me just say first off I am an Avenger’s purist. Been reading, collecting and talking Avengers for over 30 years. With that said I think Marvel is doing a great job with these movie renditions of said comic book characters.
