The end of an era is approaching! After 37 issues on Marvel’s blockbuster Star Wars ongoing series, acclaimed writer Jason Aaron is passing the torch to fellow superstar Kieron Gillen. Today, Marvel is proud to present a brief tribute to Jason Aaron and all of the other talented creators who helped make the Star Wars comics a success, including David Aja, Simone Bianchi, Mark Brooks, John Cassaday, Marco Checchetto, Mike Deodato Jr., Terry Dodson, Stuart Immonen, Salvador Larroca, Mike Mayhew, Jorge Molina and Leinil Francis Yu.
I was one of the percentage who was happy for Colin Trevorrow to leave the untitled Episode IX. Since Lucasfilm announced him being tied to the project, I was cautious to say the least. Jurassic World was by no means a bad movie, but it was a Blockbuster in its purest form. While nostalgia played a huge part in bringing that movie to life, at the end of the day it’s just a fine movie. Trevorrow is not a bad director, however, and I’m not here to bash him, but instead help everyone understand he wasn’t the best choice for a trilogy-closing movie of this magnitude. And there’s a lot of other people out there, too, who are very much like that: good directors that aren’t suitable for a mainline Star Wars film....

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Creator Kevin Eastman has collaborated with Maverick Filmmaker and El Rey Network Founder Robert Rodriguez on the cover of Drawing Blood, a totally fictional true story about the comic book industry. Ben Bishop created the layouts inspired by Rodriguez El Mariachi movie poster, Eastman penciled the work and Rodriguez is inking this cover. This marks the second comic book cover collaboration for Eastman and Rodriguez, whose first passion was drawing cartoons before he started focusing on filmmaking.
