Marvel’s famous panel Next Big Thing Panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con just concluded and, as always, it was filled to the brim with announcements, first looks, and teases about the future of the Marvel Universe! Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, Executive Editor Nick Lowe, editors Darren Shan and Lauren Bisom and an incredible lineup of creators including Christopher Cantwell (Iron Man), Jonathan Hickman (X-Men), Ram V (Venom, Carnage), and Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing (Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty) came together to reveal some of the hottest Marvel titles coming your way in the next few months. Here’s some of the panel’s biggest announcements!  

Devilish details about DARK WEB have emerged during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con! Teased in various panels throughout the weekend, DARK WEB will be a Spider-Man/X-Men crossover story spearheaded by current AMAZING SPIDER-MAN scribe Zeb Wells. The saga will begin in prelude issues throughout November, followed by December’s DARK WEB ALPHA #1 where Wells will be joined by superstar artist Adam Kubert. From there, the web will be spun across issues of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN as well as various tie-in one-shots and limited series.  

Known for his legendary and impactful run on INCREDIBLE HULK, superstar comics writer Peter David is proving his acclaimed work on the Hulk mythos is far from over! Having just finished an epic trilogy of limited series that told the grand saga of Hulk villain MAESTRO, David will now turn his attention to another iconic creation of his—JOE FIXIT! The fan-favorite Hulk persona that muscled his way through Las Vegas as a hedonistic bodyguard will star in his very own limited series set during David’s original time on the INCREDLBLE HULK. Joining David in this Sin City adventure will be artist Yildiray Cinar (The Marvels).  

Today’s X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA #1 laid the groundwork for the next era of X-Men storytelling! Written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by Kris Anka, Russell Dauterman, Matteo Lolli, and C.F. Villa, the giant-sized one-shot was packed with surprises including a vicious attack by former X-Men ally Moira MacTaggert and the world’s devastating response to mutant resurrection, two exciting developments that will lead directly into the upcoming crossover event, A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY! But amidst the drama also came the long-awaited reveal of the new X-Men lineup!  

OZZY OSBOURNE will make his debut at this year’s SAN DIEGO COMIC CONVENTION (Comic-Con International) on Friday, July 22. OSBOURNE and Todd McFarlane will reveal artwork for the limited-edition special McFarlane-designed comic book (that is available that is part of some of the special edition album packages) along with a signing at the Stern Pinball/Rebellion Republic booth, further details of which will be announced soon. In addition, today the two revealed the alternate cover [image above] for the limited-edition cover variant of OSBOURNE’s new PATIENT NUMBER 9 (out September 9 on Epic) album with artwork by McFarlane and Jason Shawn Alexander.  

For over three decades, GRAMMY Award winning guitarist John Petrucci has been known for his work in the ground-breaking and influential prog-metal band Dream Theater. Now, John is adding another career milestone to his resume as he is embarking on his first headlining solo tour performing material from his recently released solo album, Terminal Velocity, as well as songs from his widely acclaimed debut release, Suspended Animation. Terminal Velocity marked the first time that John and former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy recorded together since Mike left the band in 2010. Now, John will take his instrumental trio on the road performing live with Mike Portnoy, and legendary bassist Dave LaRue in an on-stage reunion... 

Marc Spector is currently baring his very soul as he tackles his most hard-hitting missions to date in writer Jed MacKay’s current run on MOON KNIGHT. With new villains and fresh takes on the Moon Knight mythology, the title has been a hit with fans, and this October, readers will be treated to even more revolutionary Moon Knight action in the run’s first annual. A double-sized spectacular, MOON KNIGHT ANNUAL #1 will feature art by Federico Sabbatini, the artist behind select issues of MOON KNIGHT as well as the recent DEVIL’S REIGN: MOON KNIGHT one-shot. The story will feature a bloody reunion between Moon Knight and an iconic Marvel Comics character whom he shares deep roots with—Jack Russell, the Werewolf... 

Cowabunga, dudes and dudettes! The love for ’80s pop culture never fades, and by popular demand, IDW is giving fans what they want with the September debut of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures, a faithful new comic book inspired by the classic cartoon, shipping monthly and featuring the fan-favorite creative team of writer Erik Burnham and artist Tim Lattie.  

JUDAS PRIEST ANNOUNCE 50 HEAVY METAL YEARS TOUR DATES One of heavy metal’s all-time greats, Judas Priest, will get the opportunity to celebrate their 50th anniversary again this year with the launch of a new North American fall tour. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will also feature Queensryche as openers and is being fueled by the highest charting album of Priest’s career, ‘Firepower,’ which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.  

Locke & Key artist and co-creator Gabriel Rodriguez, colorist Jay Fotos, and writer Chris Ryall bring readers the complete, extra-length tale of a cyborg warrior who calls herself Onyx. The exciting Onyx one-shot story will land on shelves this September and be published by Image Comics/Syzygy.  

The future of the Spider-Verse is here! Beginning on August 3, fans will see the SPIDER-VERSE expand like never before in EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE, a new limited series that will introduce brand-new Spider-Heroes and check in with iconic favorites such as Araña and Spider-Man Noir. The series will contain a range of stories from longtime Spidey creators and rising stars, each with bold additions to the Spider-Man mythos. Amidst these thrilling debuts and fresh status quos, Spider-Man visionary Dan Slott will be laying the groundwork for an all-new epic launching later this year that will mark the end of the Spider-Verse as fans know it…
